Those that own pricy pieces of jewelry may not think they have a use for costume jewelry, but there are always times when these are the better choice. If you have ever lost a costly piece of jewelry, you probably know how painful that can be. You may wonder if anyone is going to realize you are not wearing the real thing on occasion when they know that you usually are, but that is not much of a worry these days. Jewelry that is not made of real diamonds and other materials is so nice these days that it can be hard to tell the difference without an up close and in-depth inspection.
Costume Jewelry
When you buy costume jewelry, you can go for the five or ten dollar pieces, but they are not going to be made very well. When you have the need to find something that looks amazing, you want to spend a bit more. If you have the cash for the real pieces, this should not be too much of a problem for you. You may not find exact copies of your jewelry items, but you can find things that are very close. Costume jewelry is made better than ever before. This is not only about the materials, but about the workmanship as well.
You may be wondering when it would be a good idea to wear the costume jewelry as apposed to the real thing. Think about times when you may be in a situation where it would be very easy to damage something or lose it entirely. If you love going out to clubs, that might not be the best time to wear a real diamond necklace. Someone could snag it the wrong way and it is broken and lost immediately. If you are going on a boat, one false move could send your non costume jewelry right down to the bottom, never to be seen again.

Ok, let me explain. It is not as though I have ever taken the kids to school in my birthday suit, I am talking about getting dressed, combing my hair and applying lipstick. For a while after I became a mom and homemaker, I would wake and simply tie my hair in a pony tail. I would hardly change out of my pajamas and baggy pants and a sweatshirt became my homemaker’s uniform. It wasn’t long before I realized is a no bueno habit. Not exactly how to explain this phenomena but my days are far more cheerful if I don’t feel frumpy, unkempt and as though I am 15 years older than I am.
Wake Up 20 Minutes Before the Kids
One of the ways I accomplish getting dressed is I wake up 20 minutes before anyone else in the house. Although some mornings I must drag myself from the bed however I am always pleased I do. Those few minutes of silence allow me to collect my thoughts and prepare for the day ahead. It is amazing what one can accomplish in 20 minutes. When the kids wake, I am dressed and usually smiling, the lunches are made, and breakfast is on the table. As the kids sit at the table for breakfast, so do I. I have a few moments to enjoy a cup of coffee and conversation before the morning schedule shifts into action.

Every woman -and man for that matter- has something that they know they buy just too much of, but they keep buying anyway. I know my weakness is shoes, though my husband would say it is both shoes and purses. He’s right of course, as I have too many of both. However, when I see a pair of shoes that I have to have, I get them. The same can be said for the times when I find a really great purse. One of my favorite events, as you can imagine, is a shoe sale.
