Christmas is one of the happiest times of the year
for a child. Spending the happiest time of the year,
at the happiest place on earth, could be a dream
that comes true for many children and adults.
Christmas at Disneyland is an experience that will
never be forgotten, and can never be matched.

Disneyland works to make Christmas very special.
Santa’s Reindeer Roundup is especially fun, allowing
children to decorate Christmas cookies with Mrs.
Clause, play Reindeer Games, and make holiday
souvenirs. Between seeing all of the characters
dressed up in their holiday costumes and enjoying
the ‘snow’ after the Fireworks, Christmas at
Disneyland cannot be topped!

Make sure that you visit the Christmas Shoppe and
buy a special holiday ornament. Also, take part in
all of the special holiday rides. Visiting Disneyland
at Christmas time is unlike any other Disneyland
vacation you will ever take. Make sure you get a
picture of the Christmas tree!

Even though Christmas is considered to be
‘off-season’ you should be prepared for crowds.
Christmas is a very popular time to visit
Disneyland. Make reservations well in advance.

Disneyland Weddings

Disneyland weddings are not last minute events.
The planning stage starts one year before the date
of the wedding with a meeting with the Disney

possible locations for the wedding. Eleven months
before the big day, the letter of agreement must be
signed and returned with a deposit. At ten months,
announcements are mailed out to the guests who
are to be invited.

Eight months before the big day, the planning steps
up. Planning sessions are held by phone or in
person with the wedding planner, and ceremony and
reception event orders are prepared. Everything starts
falling into place, and the planning continues until one
month before the big day. Final payments are due
thirty days before the wedding date, and the final
guest count is due four days before the wedding is
to take place.

Biloxi Mississippi

Nicknamed the Seafood Capital of the World, Biloxi Mississippi has taken some hard knocks of late but is thriving once again. This part of the Gulf of Mexico suffered a great deal of damage when Hurricane Katrina hit in August 2005. The city has a reputation for offering some of the best sport fishing on the coast. Anglers come from far and wide during the fishing season to catch Red Drum, King Mackerel, Flounder, Grouper, Snapper and Sharks.

The other main draw to the area is the abundance of casinos. Gambling licenses were issued in the state in the 1990s and many hotel gambling resorts were built, bringing tourists and boosting the local economy around Biloxi Mississippi. When Katrina made its unwelcome visit, it caused 17 hours of hurricane force winds and a 30 foot flood, which reached third floor levels. Several casinos were severely damaged or totally destroyed and some casino barges were pushed inland. Most of the complexes have been re-built and they are open for business once more.

A lot of the casinos were particularly vulnerable because they were constructed on floating barges. This was in order to comply with the regulations of the time that stipulated that gambling establishments must be under marine jurisdiction. These rules no longer apply in Biloxi Mississippi and many casinos were re-built on solid foundations.

The first permanent community in the area was founded in 1699, in what was known as French Louisiana. There are still reminders of this French influence as in the naming of one of the most well known casinos, Beau Rivage, meaning beautiful shore. After being damaged, the resort re-opened on the first anniversary of the hurricane in 2006. It contains restaurants, a terrace café and a hotel that is the tallest building in the state.

Another well known landmark in the city is the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. This too suffered at the hands of Katrina and re-opened in June 2007. In addition to the hotel and gambling facilities, there is a spa, nightclub and the famous Hard Rock Café. The café contains rock memorabilia, including Elvis Presley’s army uniform and guitars belonging to Johnny Cash, BB King and Kiss. Gamblers can play on slot machines, table games or chance their luck in the poker room. There is also a stage for live performances.

Visitors continue to come to the white beachfront, sampling the seafood restaurants and spinning the roulette wheels. Biloxi Mississippi refused to be a permanent victim and it has risen from the ashes like a phoenix.

Yoga has many beneficial effects if you practice it on a regular basis; it is known to help if major illnesses as well as being undertaken by those who just want to get fitter and healthier. The majority of people who practice yoga do so because of the way that their whole system, their body, mind and soul is brought together and the totally peaceful feeling that this brings out in the person. Yoga helps to bring and harmonize the body, mind and spirit that are essential to a happy lifestyle.

The Chinese have long believed that illness develops due to the body becoming out of sync and that symptoms are just a sign of a more deeper underlying problem. They believe that there is an energy force that flows throughout the body and it is when this energy force is blocked that problems begin to arise within the body. Yoga is one way of ensuring that the flow of energy is kept running freely throughout the body, yoga can help to achieve this many ways, the poses are specifically designed to open up the chest, the heart, the lungs and to strengthen the body functions such as the immune system.

One of the aspects of yoga is to help the person develop their spirituality and to let it flow, to look into themselves and the person they are instead of running away and putting the blame on anything else but themselves. Those who develop their spirituality have found that they are able to feel free, happy and are able to deal with and overcome problems that previously would have had them in knots.

Feeling good about oneself is essential in dealing with a wide variety of problems and indeed if you are able to deal and understand yourself and the problems that affect you then very often these problems simply disappear. One oft eh easiest ways to start looking into yourself and finding your spiritual side is to start off with the yogic breathing exercises. Yogic breathing helps the person to settle down and relax and to look inside him or herself and discover the person they really are.

Hatha yoga breathing relies on focusing on the exhalation; Westerners seem to put importance on inhalation when in fact this is wrong. Changing the way we breathe can vastly change how we feel as well as our outlook on life. When practicing Hatha yoga to develop your spirituality breathe in slowly though the nose fully, yogic breathing focuses strongly on silent breathing, if you are breathing correctly then you shouldn’t be able to hear yourself breathe. When exhaling, be sure that you do so from your abdomen and make sure that you push the air out of your body totally. This is the simplest way to perform yogic breathing to develop and bring forth your spirituality.

Careers with Animals

In the United States people spend millions of dollars on their pets annually. Over the past few years there has been an increase in exotic pets; however the majority of people still own a dog or a cat. Our family has two of each. Our pets are well cared for and loved. They are treated as part of the family. They are given presents on Christmas and we celebrate their birthdays. Our two children have always been very loving towards the animals and help to take care of them.

Although both our son and daughter care about our animals, our daughter has a special way with animals. She has always been interested in anything and everything having to do with animals. As a very young child she watched animal planet and discovery channel instead of cartoons. She always said that she was interested in careers with animals. Whenever she had to do a presentation or research paper about planning for her future she would research careers with animals. Each time she would do additional research she would change her mind on what she wanted to do. I thought she would concentrate on zoology or animal biology but when she began looking at different university’s to attend; she concentrated on schools where she could receive her veterinary degree. Of all the careers with animals that she could concentrate on she picked the career with the longest time commitment, but also the one that could be the most rewarding.

As she began her studies she had to be very dedicated. Veterinary science is a very competitive and difficult field to get into. I assumed she would concentrate on becoming a small animal veterinarian because these are the animals she was exposed to in our home. I was very surprised when she announced that she wanted to be a farm vet. There is a need for large animal vets in rural areas. She applied for and received a fellowship to work for a summer with a rural veterinarian clinic. She would assist the vet on calls out to farms and would also help with surgeries in the office. This vet also had a small animal practice so she had exposure to both areas. She fell in love with working with the large animals. She plans to work in a clinic similar to the one where she did her field experience. Her goal is to have her own practice in a small rural area some day. I know where ever she works the animals will be well cared for.

Team Building

Almost everyone goes through a team building program at some time in their life. You may not be aware that you have been in team building activities, but you probably have. They are incorporated into almost every sector of our society, from elementary education up through the corporate world. The classic team building programs are very physical. For example, may people do high ropes courses at summer camp. In these courses, the team has to work together as a whole to get everyone over, under, or through certain obstacles. Although you are focused on the supposed goals during the teambuilding program, the program itself is the goal. Through learning to work together as a team, everyone gets to know each other better. They become more aware of their strengths and weaknesses, and of how they can work together. Although sometimes the teambuilding programs make certain people feel like outcasts, more often they bring everyone together.

Of course, some team builders ideas are much more shallow than that. Often, a good team building program is just an icebreaker. You see, doing team building programs is a little bit more difficult with adults than with kids. With kids, it is easy to get them totally immersed in something like a high ropes course. With adults, however, you often have to take a more subtle approach to let people preserve their boundaries and dignity. An adult team building program won’t necessarily be something physical. Often, it can be solving a riddle or an imaginary crime together. Most adults like crime shows, so they are a frequent source of team building program curriculums.

Our team building company focuses on more rugged, direct team building programs. We actually call them team building adventures. Our typical team building adventure program takes place in the great outdoors. What is great about doing adventure programs outdoors is that you don’t have to be as creative or elaborate with your team building Basically, an outdoor team building program can involve almost anything. Sometimes, people are put into groups and have to find the way back to civilization with a map and compass. Other times, the team building program is really little more than a white water rafting trip. It doesn’t matter. As long as it can bring a corporate team together, it has accomplished its goal. Ideally, the perfect team building program will leave people feeling like they haven’t even gone through a course. They will simply feel like they have developed their relationships with the other people on the team more fully.
