Video Conferencing
Video conferencing is a great technology that has really impacted and changed the way we all communicate with each other. Video conferencing has come a long ways over the years and has led us to great communication solutions. Like anything else, with video conferencing there are many things you can do to make your video conferencing experience a good one.
Before you make the video conferencing call, make sure that you have all of your materials ready. This can include presentations, videos, reports or anything else you might use. You want to make a seamless video conferencing call. The best way to do that is to be prepared just as if you were there in person.
If you are going to do a multi point video conferencing session, then it is good to have all of the video conferencing numbers on hand. You do not want to make the other video conferencing participants wait for the session to begin because you cannot find all of the other video conferencing numbers.
Because video conferencing uses streamed video, there are some things you can do to make your image appear clearer. First, check your lighting. To much light can really blur out or distort your image. If you do not have enough light, then your image could become to dark. If you wear bright colors, then this can also make your clothing stand out and blur your image. Wear soft colors that will not reflect to much light off of you and damage your image as it is being broadcasted.
Make sure to test your audio connections and make sure that your voice comes through clear during the video conference. Try to use a quality microphone and avoid getting to loud. Good microphones can pick up even the slightest sound, so it is best to speak in a normal conversational tone.
The best tip of all is to act normal like you are in the room with everyone. Remember that people can see your gestures, movements and expressions. Act and talk as you normally would as if you were speaking to everyone right in front of you. With video conferencing they really are right in front of you.
